The 2026 event was open to interested students across its seven grade divisions, with every division completing both the short-answer contest and the speed round. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That format makes the challenge different from a typical classroom assessment. Students have to move between questions that require sustained reasoning and a much faster round in which time management becomes part of the task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For some younger participants, particularly those in Grades 3 through 5, the Summer Challenge may be one of their first experiences with a formal timed mathematics competition.
