Level H is the highest level in i-Ready<\/strong>, the level used for the i-Ready Diagnostic’s lettered instructional scale (Levels A through H). It typically aligns with Grade 8 and above skills in reading and math. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On i-Ready’s underlying numeric scale score \u2014 which runs from the low 100s to the mid-800s and continues through Grade 12 \u2014 Level H covers scores of roughly 650 and up, so a student can sit well inside Level H for several years while their scale score keeps climbing. Reaching Level H means a child has mastered the skill set the Diagnostic measures, not that learning stops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>What Are i-Ready Levels?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

i-Ready<\/a> levels are part of the i-Ready Diagnostic<\/a>, an adaptive assessment used by many U.S. schools. The test adjusts questions in real time based on how a student responds. Instead of giving a simple pass or fail result, it places students into instructional levels labeled A through H.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each level represents a range of skills, not a specific grade score. This is important. A Level D student is not \u201cbehind\u201d just because they are not at Level F. It simply means their current understanding matches a certain set of skills and concepts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How i-Ready Levels Work<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment developed by Curriculum Associates. It adjusts question difficulty in real time based on student responses and aligns to Common Core State Standards across four domains: number and operations, algebra, measurement and data, and geometry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each letter level represents a skill band, not a grade score. Reading and math are diagnosed separately, so a child can be at different levels in each subject \u2014 this is common and does not indicate a learning problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
