    1. The 1954 UN Resolution<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    In 1954, the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 836(IX)<\/strong>, recommending that all countries institute a day to encourage “fraternity and understanding between children” and to promote their welfare.
